[Bacha Coffee]
The story of Bacha Coffee begins in 1910 in Marrakesh, Morocco, a country in North Africa. At that time, cultural and political leaders representing the 20th century gathered from around the world at a magnificent palace, where freshly brewed Arabian coffee (now known as Arabica coffee) was served. A social gathering place where people chatted over coffee, this salon was the very beginning of Bacha Coffee.
Stepping into the flagship store unveiled on Ginza's Suzuran-dori Street, you are immersed in an exotic atmosphere with a gorgeous interior design that evokes a Moroccan palace amidst a sense of calm. You can experience a special time in a refined and elegant coffee room that has been reinterpreted specifically for Japan.
The charm of Bacha Coffee is that you can enjoy a journey around the world through a single cup of coffee. The journey begins with choosing the finest 100% Arabica specialty coffee, carefully selected from renowned producing regions in over 35 countries worldwide. Searching for your favorite cup among options that vary greatly in aroma and flavor depending on the origin and roast is a blissful moment for coffee lovers. Even if you love coffee but are not an expert—like myself—rest assured that the staff will kindly and carefully explain everything to you.
Finally, the pot of coffee is brewed right before your eyes, and I take a sip. The aroma is rich, and I could perceive distinct flavors with every single sip. On this day, I chose from the decaffeinated options available, and it has a rich and deep flavor that is hard to believe is decaf. Instead of milk, vanilla-scented Chantilly cream is served on the side, allowing you to enjoy the changing flavors by adding it little by little. The staff kindly spoke to us, and from the second cup in the pot, we also enjoyed comparing flavors with the coffees chosen by the friends joining me. The sweets, created with coffee pairing in mind, were so charming that it was hard to choose which one to get, and each was a visually gorgeous plate. Bacha Coffee is a space where you can enjoy a very luxurious, extraordinary experience, making it perfect for special days or as a treat for yourself.
At the entrance of Okuno Building, where the Ginza showroom is located, pomegranates have begun to bear fruit again this year. When you are in the neighborhood, please do stop by our store.
