"Edo Glass" refers to glassware produced in the glass kilns of Tokyo and Chiba, inheriting the glassmaking techniques born during the Edo period. Working with glass requires a high level of master craftsmanship, as it involves handling high temperatures and delicate materials with critical timing. It was designated as a Tokyo Traditional Craft in 2002 and as a National Traditional Craft of Japan in 2014.

Karai (花蕾) is thin-blown Edo Glass. Its soft and graceful form, modeled after a flower bud, features an enclosing shape similar to a wine glass that enhances the aroma of your beverage. Pouring a small amount of a flavor-rich drink and enjoying it while gently tilting the glass creates an elegant experience. It is recommended for whisky, cold tea, Japanese sake, and, of course, beer.
