[Ferry Travel from Osaka to Kitakyushu]
When traveling from Osaka to Kyushu, you don't necessarily have to rely solely on planes or bullet trains. For a more relaxed travel experience, we recommend the overnight ferry. Using Meimon Taiyo Ferry, you depart from Osaka in Kansai and arrive in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, the next morning. This not only saves on accommodation costs but also allows you to enjoy the magnificent sunset over the sea and the tranquil night view filled with stars, offering a special “leisurely voyage” experience.
Meimon Taiyo Ferry operates a route connecting Osaka Nanko Port and Shin-Moji Port in Kitakyushu, with two round trips daily and a sailing time of approximately 12 hours. The first departure from Osaka Nanko Port leaves at 5:00 PM, arriving at Shin-Moji Port at 5:30 AM the next morning. The second departure leaves at 7:50 PM, arriving at Shin-Moji Port at 8:30 AM the next morning. The schedule for the return trip from Shin-Moji Port to Osaka Nanko Port is identical.
The ferry cruises leisurely along the Seto Inland Sea, passing under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Seto Ohashi Bridge, and Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge. Passengers boarding the 5:00 PM ferry from Osaka receive an announcement about 10 minutes before passing under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Seto Ohashi Bridge. This allows them to head out onto the deck for the thrilling experience of looking up at the bridges as the ferry passes directly beneath them.
The comfortable autumn season is truly the perfect time for travel. Taking the Meimon Taiyo Ferry from Osaka to Kyushu is not only convenient and comfortable, but it will surely create special travel memories.
