[Nishikawanobori Takezaiku Returns After Years of Discontinuation]

Nishikawanobori Takezaiku, a traditional craft that was sadly discontinued a few years ago and on the verge of being lost, has now been revived.

This bamboo craft from Nishikawanoboricho, Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, once enjoyed a reputation as distinguished as that of Imari and Arita ceramics. In recent years, however, the rise of inexpensive mass-produced goods has led to a decline in demand, and the number of artisans has gradually decreased. Several years passed after it was said that the craft could no longer be made—but now, a new craftsman has emerged, and we are pleased to announce that production has resumed.

Please note that some shapes and details have been slightly modified. We invite you to view the individual product photos for more information.
