[What Shall We Cook Today?]
Now that the Rikucho Ogasawara frying pan I purchased last year has joined the kitchen, I can't help but enjoy thinking, “What shall I cook?”
Nowadays, I can find a lot of recipes by looking them up. Whenever I find something I want to make, I bookmark it and look at it on the way to the store to get the ingredients, or, conversely, I search for recipes using ingredients I have left over in the fridge.
Rikucho Ogasawara's Frying Pan is not only for baking and frying, but I often use it for oven cooking as well, since its size makes it easy to fit in the oven. The other day, in response to my son's request for a cheese pizza, I baked a Dutch baby-style cheese pizza. It's also the perfect size for torn bread.
Daily menus and procedures that had become a bit stale. I am surprised at how much my motivation changes when I have more items to rely on. I don't challenge myself to make particularly difficult recipes, but my sons tell me, “You're really into cooking these days.” I feel that they know that I enjoy cooking.
I am very happy every day to be able to look forward to “What shall I make?”
