[Curry no Champion]
On a recent business trip to Kanazawa, I visited “Curry no Champion,” one of the original Kanazawa curry restaurants, with a history of over 60 years, and is known as “Chancurry” in Hokuriku.
We ordered the L-katsu Curry. The L-katsu Curry, which is ordered by 60-70% of the customers, started when the predecessor of Curry no Champion, a Western-style restaurant, put the most popular “curry” on top of the next most popular “pork cutlet set meal” as it was. The style of cutlet with sauce and cabbage became the foundation of today's Kanazawa curry.
L-katsu Curry consists of roux, cabbage, and rice covered with pork cutlet. For lunch during your Kanazawa sightseeing tour, why not enjoy a hot L-katsu Curry with fukujinzuke pickles?
