[Hamburger Steak Bento with Minced Chicken and Tofu]
A hamburger steak bento with an extra large hamburger steak on rice, I want to eat it to the fullest when I am hungry! Don't you have days like that? The large capacity of Kobo Aizawa's food box, which can hold two cups of rice with a little room to spare, is especially recommended for children who are in full swing of eating and for those who are involved in athletic club activities.
The hamburger steak to be placed in the lunch box is a healthy tofu hamburger steak made by combining ground chicken, which is rich in protein, low in fat and calories, and tofu, which is also rich in protein and a source of calcium. The dish is filling, healthy, wallet-friendly, and full of nutrients, so there are lots of good things about it. Since I made it for lunch at home that day, I enjoyed it with a topping of grated daikon radish with ponzu (Japanese sauce made from grated radish). It is good to make lunch boxes at home from time to time.
The square food box from Kobo Aizawa, established over 100 years ago in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, is made of stainless steel, which reduces color and odor transfer of food, and can be used cleanly for a long time. The box also comes with a silicon gasket, so it can be used to hold simmered foods without worry. The simple and stylish food box will be very useful as a daily lunch box.
Hamburger steak with minced chicken and tofu
Ingredients (2 to 3 servings):
1 tofu (about 300 g)
200 g minced chicken meat
1/2 onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons bread crumbs
1 egg
A pinch of salt
A pinch of pepper
A dash of oil
Preparation:
1. Wrap tofu in kitchen paper, drain lightly, and microwave for about 3 minutes. Drain well after cooking.
2. Put the drained tofu in a bowl and mash it with your hands. Add minced chicken, chopped onion, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper, and mix well.
3. Divide the mixture into 4 or 5 equal portions and shape into small balls.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook hamburger patties over medium heat. When browned on one side, flip over, cover, and steam over low heat for 5 to 6 minutes. The hamburger is cooked through when clear juices come out when you stick a bamboo skewer into it.
5. Serve with ponzu (Japanese citrus juice), grated daikon (grated radish), teriyaki sauce, etc., as desired.
