[Pillows Are like Clouds]

Happiness in daily life can be created with a little ingenuity and inspiration. I am sure many of you have experienced that sometimes an unexpected choice or combination of choices can be the “source of happiness” if you keep your antennae open for what feels good to you and your senses. In this article, I would like to share with you some of my choices for feeling happy at the end of the day.

I love the time called sleep, which relieves the fatigue of the day and restores my energy and strength for the next day. I am always conscious of the comfort and condition of the pillow on which my precious headrests, and I have tried many different materials, especially for pillowcases that come in direct contact with my hair and skin. In summer, I use a light, breathable fabric, and from early fall through winter, when the weather cools down, I use a long, fluffy fabric that feels good against my skin. This long and fluffy fur is said to help reduce people's stress by producing oxytocin, a happy hormone when people come into contact with something soft to the touch. It is also said that people have a sense of touch that responds only to soft objects, and that such a sense of touch that feels good is particularly common around the face. This is the reason why we want to put our faces on a fluffy pillow.

So, on a whim, I chose Maruyama Towel's Kumogokochi Bath Towel as my pillowcase. Kumogokochi means “soft and fluffy like a cloud,” I've been using it as a bath towel for some time, and I've savored the little joys of its high absorbency, its size that's just right for wiping the body, and its pleasant texture. Wanting to feel this fluffy cloud-like texture for longer, I tried wrapping it around my pillow and sleeping with it. Even when wrapped all the way around, there was still room to keep the pillow's beautiful shape, and my face and neck felt like they were made of clouds. I thought it was so luxurious with just one towel. Since then, it has become my nightly habit to wrap a freshly washed Kumogokochi Bath Towel around my pillow, spritz it with my favorite pillow mist, and fall asleep enveloped in the soft, cloud-like texture and my favorite scent.

Kumogokochi Towel has a 5 mm pile, which is longer than ordinary towels, and is woven with fewer twists than ordinary towels. This is why it feels like a cloud when you wrap it around your pillow. In addition to bath towels, we also have wash towels and face towels, which are appreciated as gifts and returns. Please experience the softest towels in Japan.
