[Lemonade]

Sour lemons are perfect for drinks and cooking during the hot season when people tend to lose their appetites. Lemon ingredients include citric acid, vitamin C, polyphenols, and limonene. Citric acid is the source of sourness, and the citric acid content of lemons is one of the highest among fruits.

Citric acid goes well with minerals such as calcium, allowing for effective nutritional intake, and the acidity enhances the salty taste and reduces saltiness. Vitamin C helps maintain healthy skin and mucous membranes and has antioxidant properties, while polyphenols have antioxidant properties that are expected to have cosmetic effects and function to make fatty meals refreshing and easier to eat. And limonene, the fresh-smelling component of lemon peel, has a relaxing effect on the mood. Another thing, recent studies have shown that consuming lemons after waking up from sleep may help you wake up and regulate your body clock.

Lemons are native to the Himalayan foothills of India. India is the world's largest producer of lemons. Lemonade has been consumed since the time of the ancient civilization of Egypt, and the first lemonade was said to be a mixture of lemon, honey, and water. Lemonade has been loved and enjoyed around the world from ancient times to the present day, but its definition varies from country to country. In the United States, lemonade is sugar-sweetened lemon water without carbonation, while lemon soda is called lemonade in Europe, including the United Kingdom and Ireland.

An interesting lemonade to try making is "citronade" in France, which is made by blending lemons with their peels in a blender and adding water and sugar. In the Middle East, "limonana" is a smoothie-like lemonade made by adding mint leaves and ice to a blender. In India, there is "nimbupani," a small round lemon water with salt, spices, and sugar.

In Japan, lemonade was brought from England, and the "le" in lemonade became "ra" and the ending disappeared to become "ramune," and the original carbonated beverage was born in the early Meiji period. 1980 to 1990, Suntory's "Hachimitsu Lemon" beverage with honey and lemon flavor became very popular, Lemon beverages are well-loved in Japan. We would like to incorporate lemons into our daily lives in a tasty and healthy way.
