[Wakamatsu Ebisudo]

Wakamatsu Ebisudo is a traditional bun shop. It has been operating in Goheita Shopping Street in Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City since 1949. After the store opens at 9:00 a.m., people shopping at the nearby market and those buying in bulk for souvenirs stop by one after another, and the store is sometimes sold out before noon.

The dough, carefully steamed every morning, is slightly sweet, fluffy, moist, and has a gentle, rustic flavor. Since the dough is made using traditional methods without preservatives, we recommend that you buy it as early in the day as possible.

The store's signature product is "Imo-Pan" (sweet potato bread), which is considered a Wakamatsu specialty. It is filled with sweet potatoes from Kyushu and is very popular among people of all ages. Also popular is a bun named "Yosaku," which is made with sweet potatoes topped with azuki bean paste and wrapped in a skin, in the style of "ikinari dango," a well-known bun in Kyushu.

It is a 10-minute walk from the showroom, and they are closed on "Sundays and national holidays" as well as "days when it rains in the morning." How about making it one of your stops while strolling around Wakamatsu? Quantities are limited, so please visit the store in the morning.
