[A Drink at the Cherry Blossom Viewing Party]

There is a Japanese hanafuda (Japanese playing cards) game called "Hanami de Ippai" (A Drink at Hanami), which is completed with two cards, "Chrysanthemum and Sake Cup" and "Cherry Blossom and Curtain". As this shows, cherry blossoms and sake are inseparable and very closely related in Japan. Sake drunk while viewing cherry blossoms is called "hanami-sake" and has become a seasonal term in haiku.

Recently, the weather has become more and more pleasant, and many people are probably looking forward to the blooming of the cherry blossoms. The history of hanami in Japan dates back to the Nara period (710-794), when aristocrats of that time appreciated plum blossoms introduced from China. Later, in the Heian period (794-1185), aristocrats began to hold banquets under cherry trees, which is said to have been the prototype for today's hanami.

Of course, going outside and having hanami-sake under a real cherry tree is always a pleasure, but how about having hanami-sake at home this spring? If you prepare your favorite sake and snacks in Nosaku's sake cups and add cherry blossom chopstick rests, you can enjoy hanami-sake at your dining table. Tin softens and mellows the taste of sake. It is also a unique product in that it is a soft metal that can be reshaped by applying force.

We hope you will enjoy hanami-sake with Nosaku's sake cups, which create a gorgeous spring atmosphere.
