"Yakitori Kaze" is a popular restaurant in Wakamatsu, Kitakyushu that is always packed with locals. It is also a favorite restaurant of our staff, who hail from Wakamatsu and have been visiting with their families since childhood.
The style of yakitori in Fukuoka Prefecture is to eat the raw cabbage that is served when you take your seat and wait for the yakitori to be brought to you. It is said that this style was invented by the owner of "Tenka no Yakitori Shinshu Honten" near Hakataza in Fukuoka City, and gradually spread to other restaurants.
The most popular menu item at "Yakitori Kaze" is the pork belly, which is characterized by its volume. At first you may be overwhelmed by the size of the dish, but when you eat it, you will find that the meat is very juicy and goes perfectly with the fragrant grilled onions, and you will find yourself eating it in one bite. Many people come to the restaurant for this pork belly. The menu also includes a wide variety of other dishes, from standard items such as chicken skin and tsukune to more unusual items such as beef roast topped with grated radish. Incidentally, the Kyoto-based staff liked the pork belly with grated daikon on top the most.
The grilled rice balls are the most popular choice of regular customers. When you take a bite of the grilled rice ball, the savory taste and aroma of soy sauce fills your mouth. We didn't have a picture of it, so please ask for it at the restaurant.
There are benches along Wakamatsu Minami Kaigan Dori where the Ueno Building stands, making it a great place to take an evening stroll and take a break for a bite to eat while enjoying the ocean breeze. The Wakato Ohashi Bridge, lit up and shining bright red, welcomes you.
"Yakitori Kaze" is a 10-minute walk from our Wakamatsu Showroom. How about visiting "Yakitori Kaze" when you come to our Wakamatsu Showroom? Reservations are recommended as the restaurant fills up quickly.
